'''Akara''' is one of the '''Eight Essential Planes''' of Wisterian [[Cosmology]], tied to the essence and element of Water. Like many Essential Planes it is hazardous to outright-uninhabitable by mortal species from [[Ahren]].

Akara is effectively a vast and nigh-infinite ocean, with neither bottom nor top, and a lack of objective gravity - there is no down or up, top or bottom in Akara. The plane is home to various classes of water spirits, and frequented by other species like Marids, Undine, or [[Arcwales]].

Powerful currents course through Akara, occasionally bringing admixtures such as sleet when in close proximity to [[Antistasis]] or rocky reefs if conjoined near [[Petrii]]. Much of sentient life in Akara circles around such unusual changes in weather - the Undine and other [[Ahren]] life who establish a presence in Akara often do so on the more solid reefs so produced.
