The northern reaches of the Atlas Mountains and their foothills constitute a Boreal Rainforest, and range from temperate to cold. Toward the south, especially on their western side (which are a rain shadow), they are more arid and rocky.

Both the [[Carcolie]] and the [[Clans of Magnus]] have their territory entirely within the Atlas Mountains and overlapping with one another.
