The '''Hidden Capital''' is the capital city and principle permanent settlement of the [[Carcolie]]. It is positioned at the peak of the mountains that make up the east side of a fjord in the northernmost extent of the [[Atlas Mountains]]. The city is known for being the only stone-fortified Carcolie settlement as well as being the only permanently-settled fixed position in Carcolie cultural life. In particular it is famous for its eyrie, the [[Summit of the Beak]], and for the court of the Great Grandchieftain.

The city has a terraced structure that is easily traversed by the mountain-bound Carcolie (and especially by their Dire Rooks), but which is equally difficult to assault from the ground. In particular, no major roads approach the city, as the Carcolie are not of the nature to maintain such infrastructure, given the roving nature of most carcolie settlements.

== Politics ==

The city is ruled over by the Great Grandchieftain and their trusted lieutenants, however, the authority of the government over the rest of the Carcolie nation is not absolute.
