The '''Xarthekei Frontier''' is a region of the former Petrenean Republic in what is now the northeast [[Shimmering Shore]]. Cut off from the rest of the region by the relative perils of the [[Great Collapse]], the city fathers of [[Xarthekei]] reinstituted the position of [[Master of Xarthekei]] and took over direct administration of the city's immediate surroundings, as was their pre-republican province.

The region faces twin perils in the form of a second [[Southern Campaign]], war with either the [[Atarlie Empire]] or the dwarves of [[Southreach]], and the threat posed by the [[Great Collapse]] itself. A once placid and harmoneous area, the region is now consumed with the preparations for war.
