Convergence Hall is a large town in the Province of the Sun and Moon, northeastern Atarlie Empire. The town is known for its primary feature, Convergence Hall, which is a large manse built around a natural water formation known as the Convergence, which is, under certain circumstances, a natural gateway to the Astral Plane. The hall is part of a temple-complex to Camus Inakas and is known as a site of prophesy and home of oracles.

The balance of the population is largely the families of those who serve in this temple-complex, as well as a scattering of settled-pilgrims (and their descendants).

Geography

The town exists on the slopes of rolling foothills, a day and a half travel from the shores of the eastern sea, surrounded by a wood. Houses and commercial buildings have sprung up in a cluster along one shore of a small lake at the centre of town. At the far shore of the same lake stands the temple-complex for which the town is named.

Economy

Convergence Hall does well considering its remoteness, as many a wealthy citizen of the province travels (or sends messengers) to treat with the oracles and diviners at Convergence Hall for their wisdom. Of late, the city is also frequented by mages from Heroka (and other points). Its gateway does allow the brave (or foolish) access to trade with the Astral Plane, but doing so requires the assent of the priests of the temple, who are rare to permit such rash action for such base purposes.

Politics

Convergence Hall has little political importance. While economic powers often ask for the oracles in their uncertainty, oracular soothsaying is available in other parts of the empire, and Convergence Hall is fairly remote.
