The Lycium of Petrenea is an institution in Petrenea, the former capital of the Shimmering Shore, which is a prominent centre for higher learning. While the school produces a minority of experts in arcane or alchemical theory, it is chiefly known for being the academy of the Magi Lycia, a chivalric order of warrior-magi who make great use of evocative and abjurative magic (among other schools) together with mastery over the use of martial weaponry, and make up the core of the regiments of the city, and once indeed the whole army of the former Petrenean Republic.

The school is also well known for having formalized the Way of the Elements school of arcane theory, which is the primary competing theory of formal arcane magic to the Ars Magica practised in Wisteria's northern reaches of Bastonia and the Atarlie Empire.

The School's grounds are home to many of the facilities you would expect, but famously include several small internal courtyards used as arenas, and stables for the keeping of a variety of monsters, with monster-hunting being the primary raison d'etre for the Magi Lycia ever since the Great Collapse.
