The Secrets of Nature is the colloquial name for a school of arcane magic dominant in the Confederacy of Sages, though the school of thought is perhaps least formal of the four competing schools of the arcane in Wisteria, and it is heavily influenced by the druidic, nature-focused philosophies of the Sages.

The Secrets of Nature treat the four elements of magic - Air, Earth, Fire, and Water - as essential elements making up the fabric of the multiverse, differing from Ars Magica in this respect only by failing to acknowledge the "esoteric" elements of Light, Dark, Time, and Space as elements alongside these four. Special emphasis is placed on astronomy and cosmology as the sages are well aware that both have heavy influence on the flow of magic. Such astronomy also places a strong emphasis within the Secrets of Nature practice on the arts of Divination - it is well known that the Sages can compute extremely accurate horoscopes, a practice that was further formalized in Bastonia by practicioners of Ars Magica who had learned the trade from Cervitaur mages.

Wizardry - in the sense of formal training in the school - is rare among the tribes of the Confederacy. The school is equally taught by the druids who originally developed it and Sorcerers, and many practitioners of Ars Magica use both classes.

In addition to divine and arcane magic being seen as elements of the same primordial magic, the Secrets of Nature school includes a subset of alchemical mysteries which focus on herbalism and biological reagents.
