The Southern Expurgation (ASM 13-ASM 35) was a military campaign waged by the Kingdom of Bastonia against the remaining loyalists to the Enemy in what is now the Lordless Lands. The campaign began as a purge of Chivalric Orders like the Men of the Gauntlet which remained loyal to the Enemy after the Battle of the First Wall. However, the widespread nature of the conflict lead Bastonia into direct conflict against the Orcish Nation and the Confederacy of Sages.
This conflict resulted in the naming of the Lordless Lands, the destruction of all but the most minor holdouts of the Enemy's forces, and a lasting emnity and distrust between the humans of Bastonia and their nearest neighbours, the Orcish Nation and the Confederacy of Sages.
Technically, the conflict ended in a defeat of the Bastonian forces in a battle near Val Verra which resulted in the death of King Bastion I; however by that time the backs of the Enemy's loyalists were effectively broken, and the remaining loyalists eventually dwindled to their contemporary remnant, which is mostly just the one holdout force of Men of the Gauntlet at Skull Rock near Southport.
