Age of Darkness

The Age of Darkness was an unfathomable age of history which existed between the Vergence and the emergence of the first sentient life on Ahren, so-known for that lack of sentient understanding. On Wisteria, this is commonly understood to have began with the Vergence (accounts differ on whether or not this was the start of life, or simply the start of a material Ahren) and to have ended with the beginning of Orcish and Bastonian accounting of history.
Some scholars argue the Age of Darkness should either be divided or redefined. The Pre-Baghar Civilization, if they existed, existed during the Age of Darkness, and most scholars agree that whoever built Baghar certainly did so during this time period. Additionally, the orcs existed as the so-called Princes of Beasts for much of this age, though it was late in the age or early in the first stages of recorded history before The Fire-Keeper breathed intelligence into them.
The ape-like precursors to the humans were alive during this age. Human scholars usually consider the Age of Darkness to end when The Enemy elevates them into their modern level of intelligence.
Elves did not exist at all during the Age of Darkness. Both they and dwarves end their reckoning of this age with the creation of their respective races by their respective pantheons.
