The marid are a species of vaguely humanoid water spirits native to Akara. They are occasionally called into being in Ahren through the influence of Arcwhales or summoners, and since the Great Collapse have also colonized parts of the shores, streams, rivers, lakes, and canals of the Shimmering Shore. Of all the various species of outsiders from Akara, they are the most likely to be found as progenitors of the Undine who are an increasingly common minority in the Shimmering Shore.
