The Ethereal is one of the Concurrent Planes of Wisterian Cosmology, a distinction shared with Ahren, and Bardo. As a coterminous plane it shares with its cousins in being a reflection of Ahren; if the Ethereal Plane is a reflection of a ruined Ahren and the collective sense-impressions of those who inhabit it, the Bardo is a reflection of Ahren in its truly natural state. Ghosts, Dopplegangers, Ethergaunts, and several other species of outsider are native to the Ethereal plane, and occasionally wander into contact with Ahren. Those who leave a lasting impression on the Ethereal may become ghosts in death and find themselves doomed to haunt the living from the Ethereal expanses. Similarly, those who practice magic often make use of the Ethereal for effects involving impossible dimensionality or teleportation.
