Petrii is one of the Eight Essential Planes of Wisterian Cosmology, tied to the essence and element of Earth. Like many Essential Planes it is hazardous to outright-uninhabitable by mortal species from Ahren, though of the eight essential planes it is arguably the most livable.

Repeated past conjunctions with Antistasis has given Petrii a porus structure, formed of huge networks of caves and tunnels, in some cases exceeding the vastness of even The Deeps. Unsurprisingly, earth spirits and other earthly monsters and subterranian creatures are common on this plane, some originating here.

Unfortunately, these cave systems are not stable and subject to frequent collapse and shifting, through seismic activity or volcanism. Inclusions of water from conjunctions with Akara have also been known to flood out settlements. Nevertheless, some ambitious miners from Ahren occasionally attempt to colonize part or all of Petrii in order to have access to its potentially boundless resource.
