You know better than anyone the gods are not always clear, never mind kind. The road from here is not always clear to me.

The Southern Expansion of Bastonia, recalled in the histories of the Orcish Nation as the War of Bastonian Aggression, was a period of armed conflict beginning in 1643 Age of Bastion with the establishment of the Duchy of Sudmarch. The new Duke of Sudmarch began his rule from Val Verra by handing out new military rights to his subordinate counts and creating dozens of new counties in previously "unincorporated" portions of Sudmarch, creating borders where none had been previously. Within months, these efforts expanded into forced migrations of the Orcs out of these territories, which eventually devolved into full blown war between the Bastonians and the freshly-organized Mighty Northern Horde. The war with the Mighty Northern Horde came to a head at the Battle of Green Knoll and the Siege of Crossroads, which ultimately forced the survivors of the Mighty Northern to join forces with the Gran Urghot Horde to form what became known as the Horde Without Lords alongside forces from the Confederacy of Sages and bands of refugees from the fallen Template:Republic of Petrenea, at which point the war became less one-sided.
