Baphomet is a Lord of the Abyss, whose dominion over the draconic, taurine, and bestial has earned him the epithet King in the Maze. He was once a demon, born of the chaos of the Abyss, but has lived longer than some gods and has risen to a commensurate level of power. While not widely worshipped by the mortals of Ahren, Baphomet has followers especially among evil dragons and those loyal to them, as well as those among all races who value strength and might above all other qualities.

A chaotic evil diety, his symbol is his own draconic visage. Divine spellcasters inspired by the mother of witches gain access to the Chaos, Evil, Strength, and Animal domains. Her sacred weapon is the double axe, and he is known to favour bulls.

History

Baphomet's origins are shrouded in the mystery of time and the volatility of his native realm, the Abyss. His legendarium contains as many coherent timelines as he has followers.

Relationships

All of the Lords of the Abyss war with each other constantly, shifting alliances amongst each other in like manner to how mortals shift their clothes. His domain is near the shallower influences of Pandemonium in an area known as the Maze of Oblivion, a dangerous and ever-shifting maze of stone and earthworks that forms a sort of perpetual dungeon in which he is said to have been trapped, limiting his influence over the earth.

Appearance

Baphomet is capable of taking many forms. His favourite is that of a giant of a man, whose neck and head have been replaced with those of a dragon of many colours, with wings of the same sort of creature sprouting from his shoulders. He can disguise himself as any breed of dragon or manner of male mortal on his rare excursions from the Abyss into Ahren, but rarely does so.
