The Duke of Sudmarch is a title within the Bastonian nobility, junior to all other Dukes, and traditionally not considered in sequence to royal succession. Dukes of Sudmarch come and go quickly, replaced at the behest of the Bastonian Monarch for their failures to pacify certain areas of the Frontier Counties, dying in the attempt, or displaced in internal conflicts among the various Frontier Counts.
