The Sultunate of Baghar is the current government ruling over the city of Baghar and its immediate environs. The Sultunate were once participants in the Republic of Petrenea, and apart from no longer sending representatives to Petrenea, has effectively ruled in the same way since long before the Great Collapse. An isolationist government by its very nature, the sultunate is a complex hierarchy of princes, pashas, and Viziers surrounding the office of the Sultan themselves. There is no separation between the secular functions of government and the religious functions of the Church of Anghara, though the Sultan usually delegates their religious responsibilities to their chief advisor, the Grand Vizier.
