The Atarlie Frontier is the southernmost extent of the Atarlie Empire, located south of the Southern Province and the Hearthlands. It is defined as all lands in the eponymous geographical region, bounded on its west and east by the Atlas Mountains and the Eastern Sea, and extending as far south as the Great River of Stars. The frontier was once disputed land, a region frequently fought over by the Atarlie and the now-defunct Petrenean Republic in the Shimmering Shores, but since the Great Collapse the elves have consolidated their authority over the region and assimilated many of the cultures who lived within it.
The provincial capital, the large town of Ichor Hall, is a wealthy city, enriched by its control of the only road north from South Point into the Hearthlands, and its ability to tax trade with the Shimmering Shores as a result. It is also well known for its garrison city of Navarre's Crossing, occupying a stretch of land between the two tributaries of the Great River.
