The Celesital General (when not used in reference to San Lukas) is the title of the head of the church of Xia Leng and the chief officer of the temple at Xia Leng Ji in the southern Atlas Mountains. During the time of the Petrenean Republic the position was both religious and martial, with the Celestial General being nominally the commanding officer of any combined army the republic as a whole levied. Since the Great Collapse and the loss of the cities of Fus and Kei, the position has become purely religious, and increasingly focused on the health and well being of the church's most important temple.
